We went to school together in Harrison County and started Evil Engine #9 in 1997. A couple of names and a few lineups later, we landed in the Louisville scene right when it was loud and full of bands going for it.
In 2000 and 2001 we recorded a batch of songs — "Spin," "Thorn," "Losing Control," "Forgotten," "Your Life" — burnt them to CDs and sold and gave them away at shows. Better Off Without You came in 2003. The next year we drove down to Orlando and re-recorded "Thorn (Inside of You)" with Pete Thornton, and it got on rock radio in a handful of cities. We played the big Louisville festival bills and shared stages with national acts coming through town. We put out one more record, The Naysayer, in 2009.
People have asked about a reunion off and on ever since. This is the first time all five of us said yes at the same time.
One night. Bourbon Hall, July 25th.
